Oprah Said WHAT?!

🧐Let me put my glasses on. Where's a magnifying glass? Say what now??? Uhhh Oprah, guuurrrrl, this ain't it. This quote says denial or being completely out of touch with what's happening in these streets. Oh how I wish that excellence made people see us differently. It never has. For centuries, excellence has come out of the Black community, but there are still people who want us out of this place they believe belongs to them and only them. There are people who truly believe our existence here is obsolete because we are no longer operating in a way that we were intended after being brought here against our will. I know racism cannot hinder excellence, but government-sanctioned-systemic racism has indeed.

REMINDER: Racism and SYSTEMIC racism are not the same thing. One can possibly be changed by grassroots movements the other will never change. One is what we and other demographics are fighting against and the other I personally could care less about. Someone hating me because of my skin color at this point doesn't matter and is just willful ignorance at this point. BUT racist policies absolutely do affect us all. No amount of excellence is going to stop people from hating each other. Hatred is a choice especially in this day of unbiased information that you can get for free... if you want to😆🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️💡

Oprah, I'm just saying, you're excellence did not stop you from being racially profiled while shopping in a store for a purse while on tour. Excellence didn't stop the first Bi-Racial president and first Black First Lady AND their daughters from being the target of racist memes and posts from the moment he ran for prez and still "TIL DIS DAY!". Excellence and being an awesome worker didn't stop me from being called racial slurs on my job by entitled, hatefilled and ignorant customers. It also didn't help me to avoid sexism. Excellence and being kind didn't stop my husband from being profiled by police. When I was a teen, didn't stop my boyfriend from being harassed and profiled by police. Oprah you have moved so far up in excellence, you are clearly living in a different world.
